When I was at work, my very spiritual coworker brought in some bright red berries. As they sat there on the counter, I wondered what they were and noticed she had been munching on them. She later told me that they were Hawthorne berries and that she picked them from a bush right outside our job. Uhh sketchy!
She handed me one to try and it tasted sweet and sour, like a tiny guava. Then, I did what I always do…GOOGLE!
I googled this berry for an hour or more. I found out that it has nutrients such as vitamin C, flavonoids, and antioxidants. I picked some more yesterday and enjoyed a few on this rainy day. Here is some more information. Don’t go picking just any berries though and make sure you do your own research. Some companies make yummy teas that can provide a safe way to enjoy hawthorn berries. Earlier this year, I booked an appointment with a psychic and somatic healer, Cindy, who works out of Los Angeles. I booked this appointment out of desperation for soul-level healing, but I experienced something more amazing.
My session started with sitting in Cindy’s cozy and chic office, where she asked about my life and future plans. As I shared, Cindy began channeling my loved ones. Of course, my grandfather showed up on time and was silly, but my grandmother also arrived. From what I detected, it was my paternal grandmother and she was asking me to forgive my father, which is something I am always working on.
Later, la Virgen de Guadalupe became present and Cindy kept asking me why she was coming up. At first, I couldn’t pinpoint the reason, but, then I realized that I had just finished a painting of her because I feel connected to her feminine energy and guidance. La Virgen was with me.
Then, a woman, who Cindy said might be an aunt, came forward. This figure has come up before in another psychic session, but I do not know an aunt on the other side, so we left it as is.
What followed was really interesting. Cindy guided me to a comfy table to lay down on, where she placed a blanket and eye mask on me. First, she had me take slow breaths, close my eyes, and relax. She then asked if I was ready to begin and I said yes. She turned on relaxing music and slowly began reiki. I could feel my body pulsating as she moved around me and I kept asking her what was happening. It was a first for me. As she touched certain areas of my body, like my liver area, I began to feel pain. She would have me breathe through the pain and ask me what was coming to mind as she worked. During this, my arm began shaking. Imagine electricity flowing through a wire, well that was what was happening to my right arm. I asked Cindy about it and she said it was my body releasing. Perhaps I was releasing stress, trauma, or anxiety, but that arm shook for the whole session!
Some time later, I did a little bit of soul searching and discussed points in my life that caused me grief or suffering. These moments helped me realize that a lot of my pain wasn’t my own, but was passed down from family members.
After my session, I went to the restroom and, when I got in there, my left ear was ringing loudly and I felt overwhelmed by it. I realized that it was my clairaudience coming to life. What that means is that someone was trying to communicate with me from the other side. The ringing went away after 15 seconds or so.
I left the session feeling happy and hopeful for my future.
FAST FORWARD.
Today, I connected with body to see why I continue feeling pain in muscles or certain areas. As I massaged my pain points, I began to meditate on my belief that I am not loved. What I realized was that one of the reasons I feel unloved is not because I am not loved, but because others around me feel unloved or unlovable. Thus, their actions and emotions toward me come with their beliefs and energy.
The truth is that we have to love ourselves as best as we can and also remember the positive moments that brought love into our lives- no matter how big or small. Maybe it was a friend, teacher, religion, animal, parent, or sibling. Build yourself on those positive moments instead of someone else’s lack or neglect. Also, its unhealthy to play the comparison game and expect everyone to meet you where you’re at. So, give it time, consider therapy or a reiki session, but make sure you are ready to know the truth. You are loved. Love yourself. Do your best. Have hope.
On my healing journey, where I battle things like hormonal imbalance, anxiety, ADHD, weight loss and weight gain, I have found that mother nature really does have most of the solutions to heal and ground us.
There is one plant that I recommend for hair/nail growth, cellulite, blow flow, detox, allergies, bloating, joint paint, bug bites, and as an anti-diuretic: Nettle (Urtica dioica). You can sometimes find nettle in your front yard and think it’s an annoying weed, but I have to disagree. It’s amazing.
Nettle tea tastes pretty bland, but that’s my favorite way to take in it’s benefits. Nettle is also high in iron, calcium, and magnesium. I have recently tried to make a tincture of nettle to use in my hair growth sprays. I hope it works!
Also, can I just say that blood flow is the solution to a lot of health issues? We live very sedentary lives and its not healthy for our minds or bodies. So, even if a cup of nettle tea can assist with my blood flow, I am a happy camper.
In Chinese Medicine, nettle is a cooling herb, which means it is more of a correcting herb. Women are warm creatures filled with estrogen, so too much of a cooling herb can disrupt our cycles (overcorrection). I recommend this herb in small doses and as needed, preferably not during your luteal or menstrual phase. Men can benefit from this herb as well, as it helps the prostate and balances hormones.
Finally, listen to your body and your doctor of choice. These are my opinions. There are a few articles about its benefits/safety, and I will link them below.
I’ve decided to share my vivid world. It’s full of ADHD madness, jokes, emotions, grief, pleasure, and love. I’ll be sharing about my experiences, wisdom, lessons, and more.
Life is magick. I like to take what it gives me and transform it into something new. Something special. Join me on this journey of alchemizing the experiences we have in this temporary flesh pot.
