When I was at work, my very spiritual coworker brought in some bright red berries. As they sat there on the counter, I wondered what they were and noticed she had been munching on them. She later told me that they were Hawthorne berries and that she picked them from a bush right outside our job. Uhh sketchy!
She handed me one to try and it tasted sweet and sour, like a tiny guava. Then, I did what I always do…GOOGLE!
I googled this berry for an hour or more. I found out that it has nutrients such as vitamin C, flavonoids, and antioxidants. I picked some more yesterday and enjoyed a few on this rainy day. Here is some more information. Don’t go picking just any berries though and make sure you do your own research. Some companies make yummy teas that can provide a safe way to enjoy hawthorn berries.
